Testing At Makerspace

Greetings, all!

I wanted to share some developments with you from our recent visit to the maker space at the TU Delft Science Center.
The maker space had a stash of unknown plastic sheets, leftovers from previous projects, or brought in by students. With our scanner, we aimed to identify these plastics, ensuring they could be reused in a safe way and with the right laser cutter settings.

๐ŸŒŸ The Takeaway: Real-World Application While our plastic scanner prototype delivered promising results, there’s room for improvement. This real-world application at the maker space showcased both successes and areas for enhancement. We will further enhance the machine learning model making for better identification.

Thank you for joining us on this plastic identification journey! Your support means a lot to us, and we’d love to get in contact with you if you want to start using the Plastic Scanner in the Lassercutting environment.

Best regards, Jerry
